History
| When Bill's father Max died in 1947, Bill took over at EC. In 1952 Bill and the EC team created the first satire comic book. For 24 issues, MAD the comic book delivered comedy and satire to kids through artists such as Bill Elder, Wally Wood and Harvey Kurtzman. Because of the newly formed Comics Code Authority, Mad the comic became Mad Magazine with issue 25. Mad is still being published today under the ownership and direction of DC comcs. |
