                                        Early Career

In 1886 Anson was sent to Notre Dame by his father to make him more disiplined. When he returned home, he was as wild as every, and was sent to the University of Iowa. He wanted to leave after just one semester. He started playing baseball in his youth, but when he was 19 he joined the National Association. His best years were in 1872 and 73. During the next two years, his numbers went down, but, ChicagoWhiteStockings President WilliamHulbert signed Anson before the 1876 season.

                                        White stockings and Colts

In the White stockings first season, they won the league title. They fell in the standings the next two seasons. With the help of Anson the White stockings won five titles in 6 years. Anson invented the HitandRun. Anson is also partly credited for SpringTraining. Anson won two batting titles in the 1880's: 1881 and 1888. He also lead the league 7 times in the ten year span. He also became the first player to hit three consecutive home runs, five homers in two games, and four doubles in a game, he was also the first to perform two unassisted double plays in a game. Anson was also a racist. He wouldn't play any games against dark-skinned players. He was a player manager for the White Stockings/Colts from 1888 to 1897. When Cap left, the Colts were named Orphans show that Anson was like a parent to the team.
