                                        Career

Carlos was signed by the Cubs as a free agent in 1997. He made his ML debut in 2001. He was used as a reliever and a starter until commiting to the starter role for good in 2003. Zambrano lets his emotions get to him on the mound which is what he is known for. He pitches at a three quarters delivery. His fastball goes from 94-98. In 2004, he led the Cubs in ERA with 2.75, which was fourth in the NationalLeague. He won 16 games, and was elected to his first Allstar game.

                                        2005 Notes

He fell short of a No-Hitter 3 times during the 2005 Season.

He hit one homerun and had a .300 Batting Average.

He struck out 202 had a 3.26 ERA and a 70 winning percentage.

                                        2006 Notes

Elected to second Allstar game.

Finished with a 16-7 record with almost 9 strikeouts per 9 innings.

He went on a 7 game winning streak, and won the Pitcher of the Month in July

Hit 6 Homeruns, the most since MikeHampton in 2001
