Tips and Tricks

• Stay away from blue sharpie's as the ink has a tendency to fade over time and also has a tendency to turn yellow over time.
• If you are looking to get a trading card signed that features a UV coating, you can lightly rub a pencil eraser over the area you wish to get signed and this will allow the autograph to "stick" to the card. Another recommended method is to lightly rub baby powder over the card with your fingertips. If you are somewhere without either, just use your fingertips to rub down the card before handing it to the player to sign.
• Try not to display any autographed items under fluorescent light, so as to avoid any possible fading.
*Try TTM (Through the Mail) autographs for current and former players. Current players can be reached in care of their major league team site and minor leaguers at their minor league team site.(try minorleaguebaseball.com for obtaining minor league players' names, teams and the teams' addresses).

*Remember not to send anything you are not willing to lose, as the player is under no obligation to return your item, signed or unsigned. *Most of the major stars will not have time to sign TTM. *For former players, there are a number of publications and groups you can subscribe to for obtaining addresses.
