Junior Lessard was signed by the DallasStars (4/15/2004) after winning the 2004 HobeyBakerMemorialTrophy as the Top Collegiate Hockey Player in the US. He made his NHL debut against Calgary (10/22/2005) and scored his first NHL goal against Edmonton (11/6/2006). When not up with the NHL's Dallas Stars, Lessard played with the Iowa Stars of the AmericanHockeyLeague. He had his first official rookie cards in 2005-2006 issues. He also had his first autograph card issued this season, in 2005-2006 Heroes and Prospects Series 2. Lessard had a good showing in training camp, but he was sent down to begin the season with the Iowa Stars of the AHL.

Lessard was called up to the Stars in March of 2006, and played his first game of the 06/07 season on March 15 against the CalgaryFlames.
