On October 14th, 2006 Mats Sundin of the TorontoMapleLeafs scored his 500th career goal in style, capping off a hat-trick performance with an overtime winner against the CalgaryFlames.

Sundin has always been somewhat of a reluctant signer, and as a result many of his autograph issues from UpperDeck were redemptions. In 2007, as part of their program of replacing these outstanding redemption cards, and removing them from checklists, many Sundin cards were replaced. For collectors wanting his autographs, they should look at the BeAPlayer issues which are a project involving the NHLPA, Sundin has had many cards issued in these sets.
