Memorabilia Cards
.
SummaryInformation about various memorabilia cards included in sports card releases.

One of the biggest innovations in sports cards in the 1990s was the inclusion of memorabilia cards in products. Featuring a piece of game-worn jersey inserted into the card, these quickly became very popular and sought-after cards. Initially, these cards were very rare, and expensive but as time wore on, jersey cards became more and more plentiful, to the point where a product without memorabilia cards inserted is difficult to find. The two most common types of memorabilia cards are JerseyCards and PatchCards.

This saturation of the market has led to manufacturers needing to become more innovative, inserting various parts of the jersey, such as patches and nameplates as well as other types of memorabilia - sticks, goalie pads and pucks.
