The Memorial Cup is the championship trophy of the CanadianHockeyLeague. It is awarded to the winner of a 4-team tournament featuring the champions from the WesternHockeyLeague, the OntarioHockeyLeague and the QuebecMajorJuniorHockeyLeague as well as a host team which rotates amongst the leagues. The Memorial Cup originated in 1919, donated by the Ontario Hockey Association and intended as a memorial to the Canadian soldiers who died in World War I.
