SummaryNashville Predators franchise information

http://www.nashvillepredators.com -- Official Predators Website

The Nashville Predators entered the NationalHockeyLeague in 1998. Their first season of play was the 1998-1999 season. In their brief history in the league, the Predators have made the playoffs twice, in the 03/04 and 05/06 seasons. Both times they lost in the first round. The Predators have a solid, young franchise building around underrated goaltender TomasVokoun. The Predators also have the makings of one of the finest young defensive cores in the league, featuring DanHamhuis, RyanSuter and SheaWeber.

With the advent of the salary cap era after the lockout, the Predators made a splash on the free agent market by signing left winger PaulKariya, a player who likely would not have ended up in Nashville, had the financial playing field not undergone some major changes.
