History
| Card Pressing Pressing is when a card is physically pressed in order to remove creases, wrinkles and other surface flaws. Corners can also be pressed. Pressing can usually be detected easily. A pressed crease or wrinkle will feel smooth yet a line where the crease or wrinkle is on the card is still visible. The surface gloss will also be disturbed. Changes in the surface gloss around the crease or wrinkle is a red flag. When looking at the edges of a card, a pressed area will be noticeably thinner then the rest of the card. A card with evidence of pressing will not be graded by the major grading companies. |
