History
| A card holder made of two rectangular plastic slabs connected by 4 screws is commonly called a screw-down. The card rests between the two slabs of plastic and the screws are tightened to hold the card. Screw-down holders are now generally thought of as a bad way to store cards. The card can be damaged and even destroyed by a screw-down. In some cases, the surface of the card can actually peel off when the screw-down case is opened. To avoid the card peeling a recessed screw down is needed. Also screw downs also come in different thicknesses and different screw configuration.
