The St. Louis Blues entered the NationalHockeyLeague in the first round of expansion in 1967, when the league doubled in size from its OriginalSix franchises. The other franchises added in this instance of expansion were the MinnesotaNorthStars, OaklandSeals, LosAngelesKings, PhiladelphiaFlyers, and PittsburghPenguins.

The Blues have had some superstars suit up for them over the years, including WayneGretzky for a brief period during the 1995-1996 season. BrettHull is one of the most recognizable Blues, as well as one of the top scorers for the franchise.
