SummaryInformation about the SwiftCurrentBroncos of the WesternHockeyLeague

http://www.scbroncos.com/ Official Site

The current incarnation of the SwiftCurrentBroncos started play in 1986. They have had a somewhat troubled history since then. On December 30, 1986, the Broncos bus crashed on the way to a game in Regina. Four players (Scott Krueger, Brent Ruff, Chris Mantyka and Trent Kresse) were killed in the accident. The rest of the team finished the season in the wake of the tragedy, and the player's jerseys were retired by the club. The Broncos wear a shoulder patch with the numbers inside a 4-leaf clover to this day, and the trophy for WesternHockeyLeague MVP is the Four Broncos Trophy. The Broncos were also at the center of the sexual abuse charges against former coach Graham James levied by former Bronco Sheldon Kennedy.
