The "Cy Young Award" is named after Denton True Young also known as Cy Young, who pitched from the 1890's to the 1900's and is 1st all-time in wins (511), IP (7354 2/3), Games Started (815) and Complete Games (749) because of Cy Young's great pitching ability Major League Baseball now gives out an award every year to the best and most deserving pitcher in the National League and American League called the "Cy Young Award".
