Recoloring is a type of doctoring or alteration where color is added to cover up or replace missing color on a card. When a border is flaked or chipped, a pen, marker or pencil can be used to touch up the original color. This is thought of as a deceptive practice meant to defraud a buyer. A card with evidence of recoloring will not be graded by the major grading companies.
