History

Since joining the NBA for the 1967-68 season, the Sonics have had many highlights in their history, including consecutive trips to the NBA Finals in 1978 and 1979 (culminating the second time in their first NBA Championship), four division titles in five years in the 1990s and a return to the 1996 NBA Finals, and 2004-05's Northwest Division Championship.
